Lemon Bay Conservancy at LBHS Senior Awards Night

Lemon Bay Conservancy  officers Vice President Irene Slattery and Acting President Jim Cooper awarding the Elsie Bracken Scholarship Award to Lemon Bay High School senior, Shannen Smith at the LBHS Awards Night held Monday evening, May 8th. Shannen was recognized for her outstanding work in conservation research at the 2015 S.T.E.M. camp held at Wildflower Preserve that led to an award at the Florida State Science Fair. Shannen will be heading to New York University in August. Congratulations Shannen and job well done!LBC-Elsie Bracken Memorial Scholarship

Founded in 1971, Lemon Bay Conservancy is a not-for-profit land trust based in Englewood, Florida. Our long-range vision is: "To forever protect and preserve the natural features of Lemon Bay, Charlotte Harbor, their surrounding waters and uplands, and vital fish and wildlife habitat, through property preservation, environmental education and advocacy for sustainable land and water conservation policies and practices."
