Wesley Cantrell, who is working to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout, selected Lemon Creek Wildflower Preserve for his Eagle Service Project.
On Saturday, July 19, 2025, Wesley led a group of scouts from Troop 26 in building a new information kiosk in the southwestern area of the preserve, near special interest point “T” on our trail map.
Constructed with pressure treated 6”x 6” posts, stainless steel bolts and a metal roof, the new kiosk will be used to provide visitors with educational information about mangroves, Lemon Creek, and our juvenile tarpon research project.
Wesley solicited multiple businesses for the lumber, metal roofing and hardware needed to complete the kiosk. Randy Cantrell, troop leader, father and expert gopher, was very proud of Wesley for organizing the project, recruiting his helpers and seeing it through completion.
This effort marks the fourth Eagle Scout Service Project completed at Lemon Creek Wildflower Preserve.
Thank you, Wesley and Troop 26!
