Preserve Sandalhaven Creek Bed Planting Project

Dear LBC Volunteers,

We are launching a critical habitat restoration project and need your hands on the ground. From Tuesday, June 23 to Friday, June 26, our team is planting 600 native wetland plants in our Lemon Creek Wildflower Preserve Sandalhaven Creek bed to restore the local ecosystem. improve water quality, stabilize the littoral zone and create vital habitats for wildlife.

Whether you can spare a few hours one day or help every day till all plants are in the ground, your time will make a direct, lasting impact at Wildflower Preserve.

We will have two shifts for volunteers: 7 – 9 am and 9 – 11 am.

What to bring:  Mud Boots or Waders, closed toe shoes, gloves, eye protection, plenty of water, sunscreen and bug spray.

Lemon Bay Conservancy will provide all the necessary tools, planting guidance, and some light refreshments to keep you energized.  No prior planting experience is required, as our team will guide you through the process on-site.

This planting will take place in a creek bed. Dress for the heat and to get wet and muddy.
