Here’s the fourth in our series of posts on the beauty around us: Babcock / Webb
The vast Babcock/Webb Wildlife Management Area is located east of I-75 and south of Punta Gorda near I-75 Exit 158 (Tuckers Grade). Although it shares the Babcock name with nearby Babcock Ranch, it is a separate natural area managed by the FWC.
Most of the land is hydric (wet) pine flatwoods, with large expanses of marsh and open water.
Bob and Joan Winter, Lemon Bay Conservancy and Peace River Audubon members, forwarded their recently completed video about visiting “the Webb” for all of us to enjoy. Here’s a link to YouTube:
