On Saturday, February 11, an estimated 250 visitors came out to Lemon Creek Wildflower Preserve for a day filled with activities including guided walks, special presentations, golf cart tours, a plant sale, and the new labyrinth on the hill dedication.
Visitors had the opportunity to help string vertical oyster gardens as part of Lemon Bay Conservancy’s “One Dock at a Time” oyster restoration efforts. Local environmental groups provided interesting talks and displays highlighting nearby nature trails, native plants, butterflies, pelican rescue, sea turtle patrols, and local birding opportunities.
Thoroughbred Golf Carts provided two six passenger golf carts that were used to introduce the preserve to visitors who were unable to join the walking tours.
Lemon Bay Conservancy would like to thank everyone that came out to the event and all the participating organizations, as well as our members and volunteers, for making the 2023 open house event a fun-filled, momentous day.
