SUMMARY:Introduction to Lemon Creek Wildflower Preserve
DESCRIPTION:A 1-hour guided walk along mowed trails through diverse upland habitats and freshwater ponds that connect to brackish Lemon Creek.  Visitors can observe native and Florida-friendly plants\, vibrant wildflowers\, and butterflies in dedicated habitats\, while spotting upland and wading birds\, insects\, reptiles and other wildlife.  We discuss ongoing research such as the juvenile Tarpon “net pull”.  Highlights often include panoramic views from the Labyrinth on the Hill and insights into ongoing habitat restoration efforts\, providing an engaging overview of LBC’s Lemon Creek Wildflower Preserve.

DESCRIPTION:LBC would like to welcome future Florida Master Naturalists and their Instructors to Lemon Creek Wildflower Preserve.  This visit features an in depth look at the vital conservation efforts including our Saltwater Estuaries and Juvenile Tarpon “Net Pull” research. Witnessing how these restored mangrove-protected ponds serve as critical nurseries for the “Mighty Silver Kings” and other marine species. Students will explore the tidal wetlands that make this 80 acre preserve a unique\, thriving ecosystem.
