SUMMARY:Introduction to Lemon Creek Wildflower Preserve
DESCRIPTION:A 1-hour guided walk along mowed trails through diverse upland habitats and freshwater ponds that connect to brackish Lemon Creek.  Visitors can observe native and Florida-friendly plants\, vibrant wildflowers\, and butterflies in dedicated habitats\, while spotting upland and wading birds\, insects\, reptiles and other wildlife.  We discuss ongoing research such as the juvenile Tarpon “net pull”.  Highlights often include panoramic views from the Labyrinth on the Hill and insights into ongoing habitat restoration efforts\, providing an engaging overview of LBC’s Lemon Creek Wildflower Preserve.

DESCRIPTION:Join Mike Weisensee for a short\, casually-paced walk at Lemon Creek Wildflower Preserve. The preserve includes upland habitats\, along with freshwater ponds and brackish water wetlands\, that attract a wide variety of birds. \nThe preserve address is 3120 Gasparilla Pines Blvd\, Englewood 34224. \n\nWhen visiting the Preserve\, closed-toe walking shoes\, a hat\, sunscreen\, and bug spray are suggested.  A water bottle\, camera\, and binoculars are also encouraged. \n\nEveryone is welcome to attend\, please feel free to invite your friends\, neighbors\, and family to come along and enjoy the early morning sights and sounds.
