SUMMARY:Rock Gardening Workshop
DESCRIPTION:You are invited to join us for our ongoing rock painting series. This workshop will be held at the Sanctuary at Cape Haze Condominiums Clubhouse\, located at 6610 Gasparilla Pines Boulevard\, Englewood\, Fl throughout the summer months. We will provide paint\, brushes\, some cocktail napkins\, mod podge for decoupage\, and a couple different types of acrylic pens for group use. Of course\, you are welcome to and may want to bring your personal supplies as well. Participants are encouraged to bring rocks or shells to decorate. River rocks are ideal\, because they take paint well and are easier to draw on. Parchment paper is also good to work on \, so be sure to bring a sheet or two along with you if you wish. We will have paper towels\, garbage bags\, and a few coloring books to use as examples for drawing. Decoupage takes a bit of time to dry\, so our workshop instructor Bonnie Stuhlmiller will take these items home to coat with spray. Participants will need to make arrangements for pick up or for donation of their finished rocks to be used at the Labyrinth on the Hill rock garden. Everyone is welcome to participate and bring along creative ideas and scissors if you have them.

DESCRIPTION:In honor of Worldwide Labyrinth Day\, VP of Outreach/Education for the Labyrinth Society\, Frank Faine will be leading a guided walk at the Lemon Creek Wildflower Preserve “Labyrinth on the Hill” on May 5 from 9:00am-11:00am. 3120 Gasparilla Pines Boulevard\, Englewood FL 34223. \nFrank is the project coordinator for the Rollins College Labyrinth Project\, which has been designated a Legacy Labyrinth\, an effort that works to create a global network of labyrinths dedicated to peace and healing. \nAdditionally\, his work is developing innovative ways to share the labyrinth experience and create a more collaborative model for the World Wide Labyrinth Day annual event. \nAll are welcome to join us as we walk together connecting the global labyrinth community in fresh\, new ways. DESCRIPTION:Join Paul Townsend for his monthly “Wildflower 101” introductory guided walk beginning at 9 am.  During this is a short\, casually-paced walk at Lemon Creek Wildflower Preserve\, you can expect to see upland and wading birds\, native and Florida friendly plants\, butterflies and other insects\, freshwater and brackish pond water environments\, and the Labyrinth on the Hill.   \nThe preserve address is 3120 Gasparilla Pines Blvd\, Englewood 34224. \n\nWhen visiting the Preserve\, closed-toe walking shoes\, a hat\, sunscreen\, and bug spray are suggested.  A water bottle\, camera\, and binoculars are also encouraged. \n\nEveryone is welcome to attend\, please feel free to invite your friends\, neighbors\, and family to come along and enjoy the early morning sights and sounds.
