Calling all LBC Kayakers and Friends!
Celebrate an early Earth Day on April 21st with a guided tour to Buttonwood and Rookery Islands — the first properties to be acquired and protected by Lemon Bay Conservancy in 1971. These mangrove islands are located to the north of Whidden Key in the Intracoastal Waterway.
Your guides will be naturalists and avid paddlers Charlie Woodruff and Jayne Dean who will lead the group on a two-hour tour departing from Stump Pass Beach Park, 900 Gulf Boulevard, Englewood, FL 34223 at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, April 21st. It is recommended that participants arrive by 8:00-8:15 a.m., as parking is limited. Waivers are required and will be available at check-in. Don’t forget to bring your hat, sunscreen, water and any snacks you may need.
Stump Pass Beach Park admission fee is $3.00, cash or credit card.
Register by phoning the Lemon Bay Conservancy office 941-830-8922, by Thursday, April 20th. Please leave a phone number where you can be reached in case of cancellation due to inclement weather. Questions? Call Charlie Woodruff 914-799-0664.
