The Lemon Bay Conservancy is proud to award our 2021 LBC Elsie Bracken Environmental Science Scholarship to Lemon Bay High School graduating senior Talon Bottenfield! Talon met the required award criteria of participating in local environmental projects, demonstrate an interest in conservation and the environment, and who plans to pursue a degree and career in environmental sciences.
Talon’s college plans include attending University of South Florida (USF) and obtaining her bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science. Talon was able to receive many college credits throughout her high school studies and credits the constant support of her parents and teachers. Talon’s high school GPA weighted was 4.426 and Class Rank weighted was 7/235.
During Talon’s senior year, she was a member of the National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, Math Club, Mu Alpha Theta, Student Government and was awarded an AP Capstone Diploma. Talon’s many personal interests include being a competitive dancer, writing, traveling, exploring the outdoors and ice skating.
Lemon Bay Conservancy Inc, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit has recently renovated the Wildflower Preserve, now named the Lemon Creek Wildflower Preserve. We focus our mission in 3 areas: Saving Land, Environmental education and Advocacy for sustainable environmental policies.
