The Florida Sea Grant program “Eyes on Seagrass” is gearing up for the summer seagrass monitoring period. Volunteers are needed for the important task of observing and documenting seagrass conditions in Charlotte County waters and Lemon Bay.
Volunteers and volunteer boat captains are encouraged to attend the seagrass monitoring training program on June 24, 2023, at the Centennial Park Recreation Center, 1120 Centennial Blvd., Port Charlotte, FL 33953. If you have participated in previous seagrass monitoring activities, you do not need to attend the training session. Important dates:
Training: June 24 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Equipment Pick-up: June 26-June 30 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Sampling: To be completed any time between July 10- June 24
