LBC members and their guests are invited to paddle with us on Friday, February 23, 2024 for an extended special event tour. Eco paddle guide Dana Houkal will lead participants on a 4-hour paddle on the Myakka River where we will observe the wood stork rookery. Participants will meet and launch from Bob Johnson’s Landing, 9083 S. Tamiami Trail, North Port, FL 34293.
Tentative push-off time is 9:30 am depending on tide and weather conditions. This excursion is an advanced paddle and recommended for more experienced paddlers. All participants must provide their own equipment: kayak or paddle board, paddles, pfd, hat, whistle, water bottle, sunscreen, bug spray and sense of humor.
All Lemon BayWatch kayak tours are limited to LBC members and their accompanying guests. Liability waiver forms are required for each tour and will be available at the launch site. Advanced reservations are required by 4:00 pm the day before each tour. Email Charlie Woodruff at cgw3@icloud.com .
