Our February 8, 2025 Exploration Day Lemon Bay Conservancy’s Lemon Creek Wildflower Preserve saw nearly 200 visitors discovering the flora and beauty of the 80-acre restored golf course.
Tours and presentations covered native plants, habitat restoration, butterflies, seagrass monitoring, water quality initiatives, pond restoration, and tarpon netting, with exhibits by partner organizations including Charlotte Harbor Environmental Center, Charlotte Harbor Aquatic Preserves, the Florida Native Plant Society, Sea Grant Florida, the Greater Charlotte Harbor Sierra Club, Keep Charlotte Beautiful, and LBC’s Lemon BayWatch team.
A special thanks to all our Lemon Bay Conservancy volunteers for organizing this wonderful event and to Thoroughbred Golf Carts for providing carts used throughout the morning to take guests with limited mobility out on the preserve trails.
