On Saturday September 9, 2023 the first session of the new “Family Explore” series was held at Lemon Creek Wildflower Preserve. September’s program focused on creating a habitat that supports butterflies and pollinators. Attendees gathered together to learn about “Pollinators” and why they are so vitally important. Participants created pollinator houses by using recycled tin cans and each one received packets of planting seeds for use at home in order to create, design, and grow a pollinator habitat of their own.
LBC will be hosting “Family Explore” sessions on the second Saturday of each month. The ongoing series will include topics themed around earth, air, fire, and water. These events are open to the public and geared for everyone of all ages. Families are encouraged and welcome to attend these free events. We ask that you please be sure to bring a water bottle, wear closed toe shoes a hat, sunscreen and bug spray, as this is an outdoor event.
