LBC members and your accompanying guests are invited to join our March paddle tours!
The tours will be conducted at a moderate pace and take approximately 2-2.5 hours. Please arrive 30 minutes before launch time to register.
- March 25: 9:30 a.m. Indian Mound Park, 210 Winson Ave., Englewood, FL Explore the mangroves and seagrass areas to the south and west of the launch site.
- April 2: 9:00 a.m. Middle Beach on Manasota Key, 6725 Manasota Key Rd, Englewood, FL 34223. Explore Fox Creek and the northern bay area.
- April 8 and April 22: “special early start”, 8:00 a.m. Stump Pass State Park, 900 Gulf Blvd, Englewood, FL 34223. The park has a $3.00 admission fee and parking is limited. Explore the LBC and state owned islands with a possible stop to see shorebirds on the beach.
All participants must provide their own equipment: Kayak, paddleboard or canoe, paddles, life jacket, hat, water, sunscreen, and a sense of humor. Waivers must be signed at check-in. Reservations are a must.

Not a paddle, but another interesting opportunity:
- April 19th: 8:00 a.m. (Note early start time). Charlie Woodruff will lead a nature walk at Lemon Creek Wildflower Preserve. This early morning walk is timed to the typical bird migration season, so we may see some unusual migrants, as well as a wide-variety of plants and resident birds. The Preserve is located at 3120 Gasparilla Pines Boulevard, Englewood, FL 34223. No reservations are required for this walk.
