Lemon Creek Wildflower Preserve Homeschool Field Trip June 13, 2023 Admin A group of local homeschool students ranging in ages from kindergarten through seventh grade, along with their parents, attended a new educational outreach class at the Lemon Bay Conservancy’s Wildflower Preserve. LBC volunteer Lary Stuhlmiller, taught the group how to read the Preserve map, gave a brief history of Lemon Bay Conservancy, and offered instruction on how to find the way back to the kiosk area after a self guided exploration of the Preserve. As the 14 students each discovered their way back, LBC volunteer Sue Wills, shared with the group how they could make a positive impact in nature by taking various actions. Instructing the students on how to build a vertical oyster garden and why they improve our water quality, Sue taught everyone why oysters play such a vital role in our waterways. Share on social media
