Outdoor Classroom Bench Maintenance Project September 29, 2023 Admin Lemon Creek Wildflower Preserve Work Crew volunteers Lary Stuhlmiller and Dana Houkal cleaned the outdoor upper classroom area benches this past Saturday morning leaving them laid over on wooden 6x6s to dry out in preparation for a final staining to be completed later on this week. This task will take two to three, 2 hour visits up on top of the berm when little to no rain is forecast in order to complete the job of refinishing the nine benches there. The remaining six outdoor classroom benches located in the meadow area have already undergone general cleaning and staining maintenance. The fifteen outdoor classroom benches will require refinishing every 4-5 years for those located in the shade of the meadow and every 2-3 years for those located up in the sun on top of the berm. An estimated total of six gallons of stain was required for the completion of this project. Please follow and like us:
