This year, Lemon Bay Conservancy is joining the international #GivingTuesday movement with a special “Step Forward for Wildflower” fundraising campaign. Giving Tuesday is officially the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. This year, that’s November 28th. You can help us by donating any time between now and November 28!
Following the frenzies of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, the idea behind Giving Tuesday is to step back from buying and focus a day on giving.
Jim Cooper is Stepping Forward for Wildflower!
As you probably know, we have a major habitat restoration project underway at Wildflower Preserve. As part of the restoration project, we are removing invasive vegetation, expanding and improving our wetlands, and planting native species.
We have major grant funding to cover the restoration steps, but the funds do not cover preparing the new trail network to allow members and guests to explore the preserve.
Your donation to Lemon Bay Conservancy’s “Step Forward for Wildflower” campaign will support the creation of a new trail network at Wildflower Preserve, including the construction of a new pedestrian bridge over Lemon Creek for access to southwestern sections of the preserve, installation of new benches, and placement of educational signs.
Three generous sponsors have “stepped forward” to offer a 1:1 match for the first $5,000 in Giving Tuesday donations received by LBC in support of this campaign. That means your “Step Forward” campaign donations received on or bef ore Giving Tuesday, November 28th, can have double the impact!
