DONATING LAND THROUGH CONSERVATION EASEMENTS

A conservation easement allows you to retain ownership of your property while ensuring the land will be preserved in perpetuity. This option is usually restricted to large parcels of pristine to mildly disturbed lands. Call us for a consultation on your property to see if it might qualify for an easement and possibly save you tax dollars while protecting the land.

MEMORIAL BENCHES

A new memorial and honor opportunity is now available at Wildflower Preserve.

LBC volunteers have constructed a new trail network trough the restored habitats at the preserve and the LBC board has approved a new bench design for memorial and honor benches to be placed along the trails and at scenic overlooks.

The 5-foot long benches are made by a local manufacturer with recycled plastic and stainless steel fittings.  A stainless steel plaque will contain a message from the bench donor.  As of early 2022, over 40 benches have been donated and placed.  A few opportunities for bench placement remain.

Donors will have the opportunity to work with the LBC trail design team to plan the location for their bench within the preserve.  The fee per bench will be $750.00.  If you would like to place a memorial or honor bench, please call the office at 941-830-8922.

LEMON BAY CONSERVANCY ENDOWMENT FUND

The Conservancy has joined with other responsible not-for-profit organizations by investing core funds in an endowment through the highly respected Gulf Coast Community Foundation of Venice. The Foundation increases our “purchasing” power by combining dollars from multiple funds that generates access to the most secure, highest return investment products available.

You can donate to the Lemon Bay Conservancy Fund by check or credit card to either the Conservancy or directly through Gulf Coast Community Foundation of Venice. Call us at 941-830-8922 or 941-830-8922 or visit the Foundation website http://www.gulfcoastcf.org. Select “Donate on-line” on the left hand side bar and click “give by credit card”. Select “Lemon Bay Conservancy” on drop down box.
