This is the fifth post in our series: The Beauty Around Us: Southwest Florida Clouds
As we all know Florida is flat, very flat. Along with our glorious weather, beaches, birdlife, fishing and a relaxing outdoor lifestyle we have something special that is often overlooked. Our clouds. The clouds are our “mountains”, framing the landscape, at times blacking out the sky, and full of mysterious shapes some of which we fleetingly recognize before they move on across the sky. You always know when you are back in Southwest Florida just by looking at the sky.
A very special time to appreciate our under-rated clouds is at sunrise and sunset. The sun lights up the clouds, painting the sky in amazing colors. Here are few examples of our Florida “mountains”.
