- Eastern comma
- Shadow darner
We are having a glorious week of Fall weather here in SW VA- hard freezes at night and warm sunny afternoons. This is decimating the flowers of course and the insect world. Yet today when I made my afternoon rounds of the farm I came across two hardy insects (a shadow darner and eastern comma) that were still hanging on and assuming “sunning” positions that allowed them to warm up, at least for the moment.
